Gawd!, it has been so long since I have written anything of note here, it is hard to know where to start. As y’all have probably noticed, I am not much of a blogger and I most likely never will be. I like having it for an occasional rant or to point out something that I have been thinking about and stuff. And obviously, there have been periods when I had more time. But I am always amazed by the people I know (or know of) who blog regularly, tweet literally non-stop, have a full time job and then some, a bunch of other work-related activities, not to mention hobbies and such, a family, a dog, etc., etc. When do they sleep?! Anyway, just a brief update to let people know I am still alive.
Spent my summer mostly working (what else?) on some really fun stuff, most notably the creation of a new organisation on digital inclusion of people with disabilities (more about that at a later date when we are ready to officially launch).
Besides that, had some minor health issues with my left foot (and by the way, I really hated that movie) but anyway, things seem to be pretty much resolved now.
Saw only one movie this summer but if you were only going to see one and you are a hopeless nerd like me, Star Trek was the one to see. Loved it regardless of a few annoying things that only a purist would mind.
Finally got a television after 5 years and only because someone gave it to me. But I have to admit it is nice to have. Of course, got cable, as well as a landline (finally, much to the joy of my parents), and came to the realisation that while there are some great tv shows, a lot of it is just really sad. But at least now I know what everyone else is talking about. Well, most some of the time. And I can now say with confidence that I know what not to wear.
Have a birthday coming up. 43! 40-fucking-3!! Can hardly believe I have made it this far and I imagine I am not alone in my bewilderment. But like I often say, “j’suis pas tuable” so I guess that is a good thing.
Hmm, lets see, what else that is fit for public consumption?… Euh, well, I am going to get a cat again but only because someone is going to give one to me. My parents have something like 5 cats and 2 dogs and have decided they can not keep one because he keeps getting attacked by another one they have and so asked me if I would take him in. So since they obviously need the help and are giving me the one with the best disposition, I have decided to break my rule of never ever having another cat for as long as I live (long story). He should be arriving sometime in October. So of course my flickr stream should soon be filled with photos of a beautiful black cat. Which, while not everyone’s taste, will at least revive my flickr.
So anyway, that is pretty much it. Totally looking forward to autumn, my favourite time of year. Y’all have a good one!
